Open House

Open House is a new open-access and participatory devising format developed by Chris Goode & Company.

For one week, Chris and a small group of fellow theatre makers occupy a rehearsal room in a venue or at a festival.

Starting absolutely from scratch, they work flat-out to develop a new piece during the week: and right from the start, the public can be part of the process. The doors will be completely open so anyone who’s interested can contribute to the conversation – audiences, artists, staff.

Participants are asked to bring stimulating materials to share, ask questions, set challenges… or simply come and enjoy the gentle chaos of a creative process that could go in any direction.

During each week - from Wednesday onwards - there’s be an evening showing of whatever’s emerged so far, and on Friday night the finished piece is unveiled.

Open House is a unique opportunity to engage with the work of a friendly and innovative company helmed as ‘one of the most exciting talents working in Britain today’ (The Guardian).
